The vehicle cannot be left. Plan around that first.
Red routes, camera enforcement and no legal standing outside most addresses. It changes the crew before it changes anything else, because somebody has to stay with the van the whole time.
Across London
What changes between boroughs is the parking, not the work.
We cover all thirty-three boroughs. Here is what is actually different between them, with the answer first in each case.
The vehicle cannot be left. Plan around that first.
Red routes, camera enforcement and no legal standing outside most addresses. It changes the crew before it changes anything else, because somebody has to stay with the van the whole time.
Converted terraces. The staircase turn decides it.
Shared front doors, half-landing turns, and a communal stairwell nothing can be left standing in. The ordinary bread and butter of van work in this city and where most collections happen.
A booked lift window, or no access at all.
Loading bays, service lifts and building management. Well run and completely inflexible. A collection here without a lift booking is a wasted journey for everybody.
Drives and forecourts. The easy half of London.
Somewhere to put the vehicle, a path wide enough to use it, and usually a seller who can help. Marketplace collections out here are genuinely straightforward.
A window with a penalty behind it.
Venue access times are set by the venue and enforced. We plan to them, and a delivery without the matching collection booked is the commonest expensive mistake in this category.
One long leg, and small countries you can actually drive to.
Single long runs across the UK, and overland routes into Europe — including four small countries where a van is genuinely the right vehicle and a container would be absurd.
Barking and Dagenham, Barnet, Bexley, Brent, Bromley, Camden, Croydon, Ealing, Enfield, Greenwich, Hackney, Hammersmith and Fulham, Haringey, Harrow, Havering, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Islington, Kensington and Chelsea, Kingston upon Thames, Lambeth, Lewisham, Merton, Newham, Redbridge, Richmond upon Thames, Southwark, Sutton, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest, Wandsworth, Westminster and the City of London.
We also do single long runs across the UK, collect from Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Bristol where a load is being consolidated here, and run overland into Europe. See the four small countries we cover by road.
Sort it early. It is the commonest avoidable problem in this city.
Permits and bay suspensions go through the borough, and boroughs differ enormously in what they want and how much notice. Start it well ahead of the job rather than the week before.
Where there is nowhere legal to stop at all, the nearest usable point becomes part of the job and we will tell you what that means for the time and the crew. We look at both addresses on a map before the day precisely so this is not a surprise.
Four things, and they take two minutes to answer.
The floor. Whether there is a lift and whether it is shared. Where a vehicle can legally stand and how far that is from the door. And the largest single thing that has to travel.
If it is not a van job we will say so, and say what to book instead.
Both addresses, what the item is, what floor each end is on, and a photograph of the biggest thing. That is enough for a straight answer and a written price.
